Student Certification No Longer Required for Virginia Insurance CE

The Virginia Insurance CE Board announced today that the Student Certification document is no longer required as part of the self-study/online CE process. Previously, the Student Certification had to be completed by the licensee and submitted to the course provider before credits could be posted to a licensee’s transcript. This change was announced during the annual call with education providers on October 27, 2021.

Virginia Insurance CE Credit Processing

The Virginia Insurance Department reminded providers that they have ten (10) days to process all Virginia insurance continuing education completions. Credits must be posted within 10 days to ensure that licensees have enough time to renew their licenses. The elimination of the affidavit requirement for self-study/online course methods should help to speed up the processing of credits.

Transcript Lookup

After successfully completing a course for Virginia insurance CE, credits are posted to a licensee’s transcripts through Sircon. Licensees should check their transcript on Sircon to ensure all completed continuing education has been posted in a timely manner. If coursework is missing, licensed producers should follow up with their education provider immediately. Before renewing an insurance license, producers should again check their transcript to ensure all requirements are met.
