So Long, 2024!
The last part of the year always seems to go by in a flash. One minute you’re slathering on sunscreen poolside and the next moment you’re making a turkey and wrapping gifts for under the tree. It’s easy to lose sight of things as the hustle and bustle of an impending new year draws near.
Here are some ways you can stay focused through the season and set yourself up for success in the new year.
Transcript Review
It can be easy to let a transcript review slide until you’re approaching your renewal date, but it’s best to stay on top of this and make sure you’re planning appropriately for required continuing education hours and certifications you may need. You’ll be able to find your transcripts for most states at SBS.com or Sircon.com. Looking for more CE courses? InsuranceStudy can help with that!
Prioritize Client Follow-Ups
The end of the year is a great time to reach out to established clients to see if their needs are being met and what more you can do to provide a greater service to them. Whether they’ve moved or hit the golden age of 65, your clients’ needs are ever evolving and they may not think to reach out to you first. You can strengthen the client relationship by proactively going to them first.
Leverage Referrals
While touching base with current clients, it’s a great time to ask if they have anyone else that may need your services. New clients are more likely to enlist your help with a referral from a trusted friend or family member.
Stay Informed and Educate Clients
With a new year approaching, many government agencies are implementing new policies or procedures. It’s important that you be the expert and educate your clients on any impending changes that may affect them.
Set Goals and Plan for 2025
Setting professional goals will help keep your focus in Q1 and set the tone for 2025. What’s in store for you next year? Do you want to teach a Continuing Education course? Is there a new topic or area of expertise you’d like to add to your services? How can you add value to your current portfolio? There are many ways to grow and thrive in the insurance industry—make a list of what sparks interest in you and specific tasks that can make it happen in 2025.
Take Care of Yourself
It seems like a no-brainer, but in the hectic year-end blur it’s easy to let your health or personal life take the back seat. Take a minute to acknowledge all you’ve accomplished in 2024 and carve out time for what really matters most to you this holiday season. A healthy work-life balance and a sense of gratitude can help manage the stress of closing out another season. You’re doing great!
