Annuity Training Requirement

Before selling, soliciting, or negotiating annuity products in Oklahoma, producers must complete a one-time annuity training course approved for at least 4 hours.

Long-Term Care (LTC) Insurance

Flood Insurance

Producers who write flood insurance must complete a one-time 3-hour training class on flood insurance and the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP).

Non-Resident CE Requirements

Non-Resident Producers - basic CE is considered to be reciprocal with the producer's resident state. The producer must maintain an active license in their resident state to be eligible for a non-resident license in Oklahoma.

Non-Resident Adjusters are required to complete CE in at least (1) state where they have an active adjuster license. CE requirements should be completed in their resident state as long as that state requires CE. Otherwise, the adjuster may designate a non-resident state where they hold an active license and meet that state's CE requirement. If Oklahoma is their designated home state, then the adjuster is required to complete 24 hours of continuing education. The 24 hours should consist of 3 hours of ethics, 2 hours of legislative update and 19 hours of adjuster general.

Annuity Training Requirement

  • Before selling, soliciting, or negotiating annuity products in Oklahoma, producers must complete a one-time annuity training course approved for at least 4 hours.  *Nonresidents who satisfy the training requirements of another state that are similar to Oklahoma's law will be deemed compliant for Oklahoma's requirement.

Long-Term Care (LTC) Insurance

  • Initial 8-hour LTC training requirement: Before selling, soliciting, or negotiating LTC insurance products in Oklahoma, producers must complete an initial 8-hour NAIC LTC course approved in any state.
  • Ongoing 4-hour LTC training requirement: After completing the 8-hour initial training requirement, producers must complete 4 hours of LTC training every 24-month period.

  • Agents licensed on or after July 1, 2011 will be issued a 2 year license that will renew on the last day of their birth month. The initial license term will not be less than 18 months and will not be more than 29 months.  The initial license fee will be pro-rated or short-rated to reflect the initial license term.

What do the Version A and Version B mean? LTC renewal training must be completed every 2 years. Most states will not allow the same CE course to be repeated during a single compliance period or the subsequent compliance period. We strongly advise that you alternate between the online versions in order to ensure you can earn CE credit towards your license renewal. If your last course was completed in the classroom or you have never taken a course with us before, choose Version A. If you are still unsure about which course to take, check your history under "My Courses" or contact customer support.
